Extending the Life of Your Natural Soap
- Keep it Dry: Allow the soap to dry completely between uses. Use a soap dish with drainage holes or a slotted soap tray to prevent water from pooling around the soap.
- Keep Away from Direct Water Flow: Avoid placing the soap directly under the showerhead or in areas with constant water flow. Excessive water exposure can cause the soap to dissolve more quickly. Put them near the back of the shower, tub or even up on a shelf after use.
- Store in a Ventilated Area: Store your natural bar soap in a well-ventilated area apart from each other, allowing air to pass in between. Avoid enclosed or airtight containers, as they can trap moisture and reduce the lifespan of the soap.
- Use a Soap Saver: When traveling to the gym or on vacation, consider using a soap saver or pouch. These mesh or fabric bags allow the soap to breathe while providing a gentle exfoliation during use.
- Cut Large Bars: If you have a large bar of soap, consider cutting it into smaller pieces. This reduces the surface area exposed to moisture, making each piece last longer.
- Rotate Soaps: If you have multiple bars of soap, rotate their use. This gives each bar a chance to thoroughly dry between uses, preventing them from becoming overly soft.
- Avoid Prolonged Sunlight Exposure: Keep your natural soap away from direct sunlight when storing. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can alter the soap's texture and fragrance.
- Use a Washcloth or Sponge: Instead of applying the soap directly to your skin, use a washcloth or sponge. This reduces the amount of soap exposed to water and extends its usage.
